A coat can feel excessive when you need some weather coverage but still want to move comfortably. The CQR Men's Tactical Softshell Jacket, Winter Warm Fleece Lined Coat, Water Resistant Outdoor Hunting Hiking Rain Windbreaker combines a softshell exterior with fleece lining, aiming at that middle ground between a light layer and heavier outerwear.

The wording is water resistant, which is a useful distinction to keep clear. I'd compare it for the conditions that suit that level of protection rather than assume it is a dedicated waterproof shell.

The specific fit deserves attention if you'll wear another layer underneath. A softshell that feels comfortable over a shirt may become restrictive over thick fleece, especially across the shoulders.

Lining Changes Versatility

A fleece-lined jacket gives you two functions in one garment. That can be convenient when the combination matches the day. The tradeoff is that you can't remove the lining separately when you're moving harder or the weather warms.

Think about the activities you'll do while wearing it. For frequent stops and starts, a separate fleece and shell may offer more adjustment. For a simple everyday outer layer, a combined jacket may be easier to grab.

My Take

I'd compare the CQR for ordinary outdoor use where its lining and water-resistant shell fit the expected conditions. I'd read the exact pocket, cuff, hood, and care information before treating it as work-specific equipment.

For sustained wet weather, choose around a documented rain-protection design. For significant cold, assess the entire clothing system instead of relying on the word winter. This jacket is most appealing when you deliberately want a lined softshell, with expectations that match its stated construction.
