Maxpedition Pico Pocket Organizer Review

The Pico organizes a compact tool selection in a three-by-five-inch pouch with one-inch depth. It gives slightly more working room than the Pico Jr while remaining a small carry item.

A spare cable or slightly longer tool can be enough to push a tiny organizer past comfortable. The Maxpedition Pico Pocket Organizer gives a little more room without moving to a large equipment pouch.

Know Which Pico Size You Are Buying

Maxpedition lists the Pico's main compartment at three by one by five inches. The smaller Pico Jr is a separate model. I would compare the measurements with the actual pen, light, or multitool I want to store.

  • Main compartment: 3 × 1 × 5 inches.
  • Material: 500D ballistic nylon.
  • Inside: Elastic divisions and slip pockets.
  • Outside: Mesh front pocket and rear loop field.

Elastic Layout Can Be Helpful or Restrictive

Holding a light or tool in a dedicated position makes it easier to find. The same divisions can feel limiting if your gear has a shape the layout does not suit.

I would load both sides realistically before assuming the pouch will close comfortably. Objects arranged in opposite elastic loops share the same depth once the organizer is zipped.

A Portable Group of Familiar Items

This is a useful format for a small selection that transfers between bags. It can reduce the chance that one little item stays behind in yesterday's backpack.

The front mesh pocket provides another access point, but I would reserve it for something appropriate to that less enclosed position. More pockets are useful when their roles are clear.

Choose Around Existing Equipment

The Pico is worth considering if its extra width and height solve a real fit problem compared with the Jr. If a larger tool collection is the plan, a roomier organizer is more sensible than forcing the zipper. I would buy the pouch to suit a deliberate equipment list, keeping the compact transfer-kit role intact.
